Satya Gaweshakayo (Truth Seekers) yesterday (16) complained to the police headquarters over the loss of foreign exchange to the state due from casinos.
Its convener, MP Premnath C. Dolawatte, alleged in his complaint that local and foreign brokers at casinos were especially targeting foreign tourists in this racket.
The racketeers are sending the money via Undial and Hawala methods, at a time when the country badly needs foreign currency circulation through its banking system.
He said he requested the police to investigate this financial crime under the money laundering act and enforce the law against the errant casinos.
