Jaffna has a new acting district secretary in Maradalingam Pratheepan from yesterday (01).
He succeeds Kanapathipillai Mahesan who has been promoted as secretary to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
A permanent posting is expected with reports indicating that Kilinochchi DS Rupavati Ketiswaran is the likely choice.
Meanwhile, Mahesan assumed duties in his new position yesterday.
His predecessor Dr. Amal Harsha de Silva and the ministry’s senior officials attended.
