A youth has been remanded until December 23 on a charge of obstructing the duties of the police.
The suspect appeared before the Nugegoda additional magistrate today (09) and was also ordered to be produced for a report on his mentalcondition.
Public security minister Tiran Alles instructed the IGP to arrest the youth after social media circulated a video of him obstructing the police at Delkanda in Nugegoda.
He was taken into custody within 24 hours of the incident.
