Civil Society groups against President Maithripala Sirisena’s decision to execute by hanging four unnamed death row inmates has organized a protest against the move today.

The decision by the government will lift the four-decade-long moratorium on the death penalty in Sri Lanka heralding in a dark age. Rape, Murders and Drug menace will not be stopped through a few executions. The Collective Against the Death Penalty is calling on the public to join their protest today.
