President Ranil Wickremesinghe has told SJB MP Mujibur Rahman that he should not find any issue with the person who paved the way for him to enter parliament being given a ‘red passport.’
The president was responding to a claim by the MP the controller of immigration and emigration had been removed for refusing to grant a diplomatic passport to a female MP with foreign citizenship.
The replacement controller has issued her with a diplomatic passport, alleged Rahman.
He also said the speaker was not acting against the lawmakers who have become lawbreakers.
