Future activities of Kotelawala Defence University Hospital came under discussion at a meeting chaired by president Ranil Wickremesinghe at his office today (30).

The hospital’s plan, infrastructure and prevailing issues, including a shortage of human resources and financial difficulties, were discussed at length.

Stressing the need for a productive use of the resources available, the president maintained that the hospital should resolve its issues swiftly and function effectively.

Health minister Keheliya Rambukwella, secretary to the president Saman Ekanayake, defence secretary Gen. (rtd.) Kamal Gunaratne, health secretary S.J.S. Chandragupta, director general of health services Dr. Asela Gunawardena, vice chancellor of the Kotelawala Defence University Maj. Gen. Milinda Peiris, Kotelawala Defence University Hospital’s director of medical services Brig. P.S. Tillakaratne were among those present at the meeting.
