The cabinet has given approval to the proposed restructuring of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).
It is based on the recommendations made by a committee entrusted with the task.
Power minister Kanchana Wijesekara tweeted that the electricity reforms bill will be drafted within a month to begin the unbundling process of the CEB.
Work on a rapid timeline to get the approval of the Parliament is needed, he also said.
