A lawyer has moved a writ petition seeking the arrest of senior DIG Deshabandu Tennakoon in connection with the disturbances on May 09.
The petitioner, Ramalingam Ranjan, submitted the petition through Niclo Associates citing the IGP, attorney general and others as respondents.
His lawyers in the case are Maithree Gunaratne, Ashan Nanayakkara and Iffath Sahabdeen.
The petition is to be taken up tomorrow (28) to determine submissions for the issuance of notice on the respondents.
