President Ranil Wickremesinghe, as the finance minister, is due to present the 2023 budget in parliament on November 14.

As per the norm, it will contain plans for the year as well as promises to appease the public.

The video below by Verite Research gives a post-review of what has happened to the previous budgetary promises, especially in 2021.

Its basis, a research, indicates a very low fulfillment of the promises given last year, and questions the transparency of the information on those fulfilled.

Correcting those blunders at least in 2023 will be crucial for the country’s revival from the present sorry plight.
