Former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen was acquitted from a case filed against him in connection with the Easter Sunday attack by Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage.

The Magistrate made this order yesterday (02) subsequent to the advice given by the Attorney General to the Criminal Investigations Department.

The Magistrate also revoked the travel ban imposed on the ACMC leader as well.

Bathiudeen was arrested by the CID on April 24, 2021 on charges of aiding and abetting the terrorists who carried out the series of terrorist attacks on Easter Sunday in 2019.
