Sources from Police Headquarters have now revealed that several case files from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) investigations into the Chief of Staff of Former

President Mahinda Rajapaksa Gamini Senarath and Former MP Sajin Vaas Gunawardene have been misplaced.

According to sources the files had been submitted to the Attorney General's Department to obtain further legal advice but has now gone missing since.  The CID over the years has carried out six investigations into Senarath.

It must be noted that the current government came to power over promises to take action against politicians who have been accused of crimes and fraud. However at a time where the government completes nearly four years in power stalwarts of the current government are now being accused of similar frauds.
