The import tax exemption on raw materials for the local production of sanitary napkins came into force with effect from October 07.
A gazette notification says this exemption is subject to recommendation by the director general of Customs on the recommendation of the secretary to the Ministry of Industries.
The prices of sanitary napkins are expected to decrease following this move.
