Parliamentarian Dr. Seetha Arambepola says she is yet to be asked by anyone to tender her resignation.

She says she personally does not need to step down from her parliamentary seat.

Social media has been reporting that Arambepola is to resign to pave the way for former president Gotabaya Rajapaksa to enter parliament.

Responding, the MP said she needed no pressure to quit if personal grounds arise, adding that it would be the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna that decides who would succeed her.
