A woman who was detained at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for questioning over a financial fraud of Rs. 60 million has died after jumping from the 5th floor of the Department’s building this morning (11), police said.
The deceased has been identified as Apsara Menike Rajapaksa, 46, a resident of Pannipitiya.
Police say they received information that she had gone to the washroom at around 3.50 a.m. today and jumped out of a window.
