Daham Sirisena, the son of former President and Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) leader Maithripala Sirisena, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Youth Front in the Polonnaruwa electorate.
This is also the first time Daham Sirisena has been assigned a post in the SLFP.
New Alliance
Meanwhile, SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara speaking to 'Neth News' said that necessary steps are being taken to form a new alliance headed by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
The State Minister reiterated that the SLFP will never be considered a minority stakeholder in a future coalition.
