Concerns have been raised regarding a tender for the purchase of fitness and exercise equipment for a gymnasium at the Department of Sports Development of the Ministry of Sports, it has been reported.

It is alleged that the two companies that had responded to the tender had submitted incomplete bids and that the Ministry is preparing to purchase equipment from the company that had submitted the highest bid.

Several officials of the technical evaluation committee have also protested the move to award the tender to the company that had quoted higher prices.

It is learnt that one company had submitted a bid of Rs. 74 million while the other company had submitted a bid of Rs. 66 million.
