Two electoral organizers of the UNP have joined the SJB with a call for unity for the victory of right-wing politics.
Waruna Rajapaksha from Gampaha and Mahesh Senanayake from Yatinuwara met Sajith Premadasa yesterday (26) and extended him their support.
Rajapaksha said a division of the right-wing parties into two camps gave victory to Anura Kumaa Dissanayake at the presidential polls.
With Ranil Wickremesinghe out of politics following his defeat, the two camps should set aside petty personal objectives and unite on a common political ideology, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Senanayake called for generosity and commitment for the country’s sake.
Divisions will destroy the country, he said, adding that his personal opinion was that leftist politics cannot help a country to come out of trouble.
To overcome the numerous challenges, the right-wing camp should be strengthened, he said.
