Two former ministers Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena and Navin Dissanayake, ex-state minister Palitha Range Bandara and former provincial councilor Senthil Thondaman have been proposed for the posts of governor in four provinces.
The Presidential Secretariat has already asked four provincial governors to resign.
They are the governors of the western, northern, eastern and northwestern provinces.
New governors are to be appointed once president Ranil Wickremesinghe returns after attending the coronation of UK’s King Charles III.
